Lego Indiana Jones: The Complete Trilogy for PSP
Tomb robbers of the world, rejoice! Lego Indiana Jones: The Complete Trilogy for PSP is anything but “square”. With fun and exciting puzzles, very funny story board, and tons of potential for replay, this game is nothing short of one of the biggest hits for the Sony PSP that has been released in recent memory.
Lego Indiana Jones: The Complete Trilogy Basics
Players of Lego Indiana Jones will reenact scenes from the first box office hit Indiana Jones movies, with a cubical twist from Lego. Fans of the Lego Star Wars game will appreciate this new version, which is basically a puzzle solving game with some combat thrown in for good measure. Puzzles in Lego Indiana Jones are designed in a smart and rational format that is easy to master and understand, even on the small screen version that is the PSP. As players traverse each level of Lego Indiana Jones, they will meet diverse new obstacles to conquer. Each level will abound with tricks that are reminiscent of the movie. For example, characters in the movies series suffered from various phobias – Indiana’s personal phobia being the fear of snakes. Look for that in “boss” fights – where the characters will have to face down these personal demons in order to win. Players will battle enemies who can regenerate their energy and power, enemies who jump continuously, and more. In some levels, players will traverse on “elephant”-back, be chased by angry bikers, and wrangle a stick of dynamite from one mean monkey – among other activities that make Lego Indiana Jones one wild ride into adventure and mayhem.
Lego Indiana Jones: The Trilogy High Points
One thing that players adore about Lego Indiana Jones is the seemingly non-stop humor. From a Harrison “Fordesque” character tricking a guard by wearing a blonde wig, to Indiana’s father nodding off during the action, players find quite a bit to laugh at while making their way through the game. Each level is crammed with hidden rewards for players who are diligent enough to discover them, but it is borderline impossible to collect every hidden treasure on the first go round with the game. Skills and attributes are different for each character. For example, Indy’s whip allows him to swing confidently across large crevices (or pull his lady friends close for a stolen kiss).
Lego Indiana Jones: The Trilogy Low Points
Unlike Lego blocks, not everything in Lego Indiana Jones: The Trilogy fits together perfectly. The generic AI characters are needed to solve particular puzzle games, but often are hard to work with and take more than just gentle coaxing to do what he’s supposed to do. The fighting segments seem very repetitive, especially while you’re fending off a horde of the enemy while solving a difficult puzzle. Finally, it is more than difficult to judge “jumps” in many parts of the game because it is hard to tell how far away you are from the platforms – which means that more times than should happen, Indy will fall to his unexpected demise just when things are getting good.
